I can usually derive this amount of detail only with a tripod shoot at 200mm, but the Nikon SB-900 has upped my capability to do so without one recently. As I said, the Nikkor 70-300mm G lens is a sunny-day lens and requires lots of light to bring out the image details.
I must say the SB-900 has just helped me duplicate that condition! Check out the color that reaches the sensor on my son's favorite play ball. Its quite a surprise to me too!
